Why so few

A shop with four hundred products is a search box with a logo on it. We would rather stock a handful, be able to say exactly who each one is for, and tell you plainly when none of them is the answer.

The rule for getting on the list is the same every time: it has to do the work of two or three separate appliances. The breakfast maker is three machines in one body. The pressure cooker does ten jobs in one pot. The hot tap removes the kettle from the worktop and the tank from the cupboard. Nothing is here because it was cheap to buy in.

How we sell

You choose at the checkout: pay by card there, or pay the courier in cash when the box is in your hands. Either way the figure is the one on the product page – VAT in, delivery in.

Before anything is packed, somebody rings to confirm the order. It slows us down and it costs us money, and we do it because a confirmed order is one that does not end up refused at the door.

What we will not do

• Invent specifications. If a figure is not in the manufacturer’s own material, it is not on this site.
• Show a struck-through price that was never charged.
• Tell you a product suits you when it does not, to close a sale.

Questions go to the contact page and are answered by a person, usually the same working day.
